Creu Cymru is proud to be part of the UK & Ireland National Performing Arts Networks (NPAN), a collaborative group of national performing arts networks working together to strengthen relationships, share intelligence and explore practical responses to the challenges facing the sector.

The collaboration brings together Creu Cymru, the Federation of Scottish Theatre, Irish Theatre Institute, Performing Arts Forum, SOLT/UK Theatre and Theatre and Dance NI. Together, these organisations represent a wide range of performing arts professionals, venues, producers and practitioners across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

By sharing evidence, experience and connections across different national contexts, NPAN helps valuable ideas and learning travel across borders. The network provides opportunities to identify areas of common interest, explore joint initiatives and connect people who can influence positive change for the performing arts sector.

Importantly, NPAN is a deliberately light-touch and informal collaboration rather than a new representative body. Each participating organisation retains its own identity, remit and voice, while working collectively where collaboration can deliver added value for members and the wider sector.

How NPAN Works

The group's activity is focused around four key areas:

Share
Exchanging intelligence, evidence, learning, resources and insights into emerging developments across the sector.

Align
Coordinating thinking, messages and approaches where there is a clear benefit in working together.

Connect
Bringing together members, partners, expertise and decision-makers from across the different nations to encourage dialogue and collaboration.

Co-design and Co-deliver
Developing practical projects and activity together where there is a strong shared case for action, sufficient capacity and clear ownership.

Working Together for a Stronger Sector

At a time of significant change and challenge for the performing arts, collaboration across national boundaries has never been more important. Through NPAN, partner organisations can share knowledge, learn from different approaches and work together on issues that affect artists, venues, audiences and communities across the UK and Ireland.
